Fuel Site Analysis event round up 2022

With 2022 well underway, the first of the industry events have begun. Marianne Hillhouse and Rianne Nelson attended the WPAMA (Western Petroleum Marketers Association) conference in Las Vegas, and the BPAMA (BP Amoco Marketers Association) Business Expo in San Antonio, over the past few weeks. They were on-hand to speak with fuel and c-store retailers about their current goals and challenges and the help that Kalibrate can offer through our Fuel Site Analysis reports.

It appears after a volatile period during the pandemic, there is an air of positivity around the c-store and the gas station industry. Marianne and Rianne were delighted to speak to new and familiar faces at both events, and with covid rules relaxing, the events were back to their usual busy energy. It’s great to have the opportunity to speak with so many people who are still building and planning new sites.

One takeaway from our most recent conversations is that the newly built gas station and c-store sites are getting bigger! This comes as a welcome surprise —with the rise of electric vehicles (EV) there have been many questions about the future of the gas station — but current activity shows there’s still a lot of investment in this area and more opportunities to be taken.

Keynote speakers at both events gave some great information on looking to the future and setting strategies for long term success, which included excellent and actionable advice — but interestingly, the conversations we had were much more focused on the investments and tactical changes that gas station owners can make today to bring them higher returns.

Next month, the team will be attending the MPACT (Midwest Petroleum & Convenience Tradeshow) Fuel and Convenience Tradeshow in Indianapolis, April 19-21, 2022.

We’re looking forward to the event — particularly some of the keynote topics being presented at MPACT like “consumer buying habits changed by Covid” from John Nelson and “The crystal ball is out of order” from Scott Huffman. These are both themes that we at Kalibrate fully support and can offer analysis and advice on.

If you are planning on attending MPACT, please let us know by reaching out via email to either: Rianne.Mcbride@kalibrate.com or Marianne.Hillhouse@kalibrate.com or pop past booth #516 on the day!
