Economic conditions are improving in Mozambique and opportunities for fuel retailers are growing.  

Kalibrate’s latest market study collected data on all fuel retailers in the country and revealed that activity in the market is starting again, with 34 new fuel retail outlets under construction.  

Although there are three main players who dominate in terms of number of outlets, it’s actually a smaller retailer that leads in overall market effectiveness. One successful retailer, with an outlet share of less than 5%, has maximized their potential to achieve a market share of over 10%, and a market effectiveness score of 2.25. They are extracting more from their assets and outperforming their competitors.
