Get the most from Kalibrate Connect 2.0

A core consideration of enabling automation is to ensure that prices calculated within your pricing software are communicated to and implemented on site in a timely and compliant manner. Here's how we can address that within Kalibrate Pricing.

In an ever-connected world, relying upon staff in store to implement prices can be an unnecessary burden and can slow down the amount of time it takes for you to implement your pricing strategy.

Here at Kalibrate we often talk about the importance of automation in a fuel retailer’s pricing strategy. But when we say ‘automation’, what do we really mean in practice?

There are several aspects that comprise automation, from the translation of pricing strategies into rules or optimized price calculations through to frameworks that govern the collection of data that supports these processes.

However, a core consideration of enabling automation is to ensure that prices calculated within your pricing software are communicated to and implemented on site in a timely and compliant manner. Here’s how we can address that within Kalibrate Pricing.

Get the most from Kalibrate Connect

Kalibrate Connect maximizes the amount of information available to pricing teams throughout the process by streamlining and simplifying the interaction between Kalibrate and Point of Sale (POS) and/or Back Office (BOS) systems.

The primary purpose of Connect is to ensure prices are sent to sites quickly and accurately, while providing stakeholders with real-time information regarding the status of the price change throughout the process.

An Enterprise API is available for clients to utilize, without requiring an additional spend on development, but Kalibrate have also made available specific adapters to a range of POS/BOS systems. To learn which systems Kalibrate has developed specific adaptors for, please contact your client services consultant.

The product consists of three widgets, all of which are available within the Kalibrate Pricing user interface and are easy to navigate for seasoned Kalibrate users, and newcomers to the software alike:

Site Setup
Connect has been designed with clients’ growth plans and change management in mind, and therefore it is easy to update and configure. From adding additional sites to a network, or amending the products that are sold through to amending access credentials and the destinations of source systems; Kalibrate recognize that Pricing Teams need to be empowered to make changes to configuration, within a defined scope.

Administration
Connect provides as much information as possible for near real-time updates on the status of each price throughout the process. There are 15 different statuses for each unique price state, falling into a few different categories :

  • Intermediate: The price is still being processed and sent through Connect.
  • Success: The price was successfully sent and/or we can confirm that the price was set at the site.
  • Failure: There is an issue (authentication, no confirmation from POS, connectivity, etc.) that indicates an issue that should be addressed.
  • Caution: There is some state that may want to be investigated further, but might not indicate a real problem to be addressed.

View Message
To provide full transparency regarding the information that has been communicated from Connect, the View Message widget provides Kalibrate users with the ability to review the content of files.
