Trent Davis. Fuel Pricing Analyst at Kwik Trip
What does fuel pricing look like day to day for you at KwikTrip?
My name is Trent Davis. I'm with Kwik Trip. I've been working with the Kalibrate Fuel Pricing software for a little over five years now. In my role at Kwik Trip, I'm directly responsible for around 130 stores, and then I also act as a backup for around another 300 stores. So I have to know all of those stores' strategies very well to do my job.
How easy is it for you to explain and justify fuel pricing decisions?
If someone challenges me on a decision, it's very easy for me to go back and explain how or why I chose that price based on learning competitor behavior, the price point that they might hit, or the replacement margin that they might hit.
How does the data and insight in Kalibrate influence your fuel pricing decisions?
The data and insight that we receive, it's brought into one place into Kalibrate, so it's very easy for me to look at and understand a competitor's way of thinking or how they'll react to something, or a move that I made.
What’s it like working with the Kalibrate Fuel Pricing team?
Working with the Kalibrate team is awesome. Everyone's very responsive when we do submit tickets or have issues and things like that, so it's been a really good relationship.
